Pavillon 11-n000 x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to acces de BIOS or boot menu in my HP Pavilion 11-n000 x360, but I'm unable to.

After turning on the computer I press F10 and a text message at the lower left corner of the screen appears saying "F10...BIOS Setup Options", and it stays like this forever.

I also tried pressing F1, and the same happens, the only difference being the message displayed: "F1...System Information".

If I press ESC, again the same, with the message "ESC...Pause Startup".

After I get those messages I tried pressing all the keys, return, etc, but to no effect. It just stays with that message.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or missing some steps here.

I tried the solutions suggested here in this forum (disconnecting, pressing 30s the power button), but again same results.

I don't know if the BIOS have ever been updated, but it's unlikely (it's my wife compter and she doesn't know).

I'm trying to acces the startup menu because I had to replace the hard disk (disk faliure) and now I installed a brand new HD. I'm guessing this has nothing to do with my problem, but I'm telling you just in case.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Josep

Immediately after powering on start tapping Esc key to halt booting and open a startup menu of choices. From there tap F9 for Boot options and see if you can use arrow keys to select the USB to boot from.Or dvd, whichever you're trying to boot from.

Thank you for your reply, but unfortunately it did not work. I started tapping Esc key just after powering on, and a text message appeared at the lower left corner saying: "ESC...Pause Startup", but it stays like that. There's no startup menu showing, and nothing happens if I press F9, ESC again, or any other key.

@Josep17

A bad hard drive can cause the problems of no F keys working. Since you installed a new drive it might be a good idea to recheck all of the connections.
