Cannot enable the secure boot on HP, option always disabled.

Hello, My HP notebook came with Freedos 2.0. Product no 5DZ922PA#ACJ

The BIOS(UEFI) program is InsydeH20 version F.14(rev.5.0). I installed MX linux 18 keeping the freedos partition intact with 'legacy support' enabled, it was working. By default, it comes with 'secure boot' disabled.

now, when I change 'legacy support' to 'disabled', the 'secure boot' does not change at all, i.e the 'secure boot' option is greyed out & remains disabled; I cannot select with arrow keys. see screenshot, [edit] can only select the blue lines. Resulting a message on screen on next startup....

Please install an operating system on yourhard disk.

I followed this link.... https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03653226 but this did not help much.

My question is How can I enable the 'secure boot' option?

Hi

You choose  Legacy/MBR or Secure/GPT.

You can't really have both.

So for Secure Boot and Windows 10 I suggest Gparted and wipe the HDD completely.

Then try the BIOS for Secure Boot.  Install W10.

Why do you want Secure Boot?  Does/Will MX linux install onto a secure boot?

Debian does not Secure Boot to my knowledge.

What is the end result you wish to achieve?

I didnot know that thing. I will completely wipe out the hdd and install win10 & Ubuntu side by side.
