Dear Support Team,

I am facing a problem since many days, i.e. the Caps Lock Light is blinking continuously, I have tried the following steps which are mentioned in the support link https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/HP-Laptop-Error-Blink-Codes/td-p/6142972 .

Still the problem is not resolved and cannot boot my laptop.

Vikram Shah

Hi

The link suggests for Continuous Blinking ti is a power supply problem.

However there may be more than one reason depending upon the BIOS installed.

Hi

In light of the lack of an SKU to double check what/which BIOS you have installed, there is little I can offer.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833

Turn off the notebook.
Plug the notebook into a power source using the power adapter.
With the notebook off, press and hold the Windows logo key and the B key at the same time (WinKey +B).

NB: On some notebook models, it might be necessary to press and hold the Windows logo key and the V key (WinKey +V).

While pressing those keys, press and hold the Power button on the computer for 2 to 3 seconds, and then release the Power button but continue to hold the Windows logo key and the B or V key until the HP BIOS update screen displays or you hear a beeping sound (usually 8 beeps).

Hi I tried holding win key + B and hold the power button for 3 seconds.  The power button lights up and on the 3rd second it turns off.  And when I hold the power button without the Win key + B.  As usual it turns on with blank screen and caps lock blinking and turns the fan on.

Let me know what could be the problem and how can I resolve it.

I have an HP Probook 4540s.

Thanks
