Power light comes on, cap lock light (LED blue?) comes on for one second, off for two (repeat)

Blank screen, nothing else

@Buckydumpster Note that specific patterns of long and short blinks along with long and short beeps (where applicable) identify errors during the startup process.
Newer computers have two-part blink sequences with different color lights to indicate specific errors and you may click here and troubleshoot on your own or provide the sequence and I'll help identify the same.

I did provide the sequence in my original post, but here it is again.  The light comes on for approximately 1 second, then goes off for two, then comes back on for 1, then off for two.  It does this until it shuts itself off, or until I shut it off.  On for 1, off for 2 repeat (again and again).  I have pulled out the battery, held down the power button, attempted a restart, but it's always the same (one second on, 2 seconds off -repeat: caps lock light)

@Buckydumpster I appreciate the details, I had attached a link you could go through for steps, that said, it looks like a hardware malfunction within the CPU, and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

 

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
