Hello,
I have a dv6-2130ed Bios F.1A, 1-4-2010
I keep getting the 902 cooling fan error. If it starts than rarely the fan is working. And because of this the laptop keeps overheating all the time.
And if it works it works for max 30 min. if the fan works it is slow running and just before it stops running at all it starts to run fast and then it stops. And than the laptop begins to heat up untill it shuts down.
I opened up the complete laptop to no avail. There was no dust or anything like that blocking the cooling unit.
Should I update the bios or buy a new fan and install it or just buy a new laptop (never HP any more)
If I update the bios (2010-06-11 , Version:F.1C A, 3.54M) do I need to make a backup of al my contents? Will the update make a deference? And what will happen if the laptop overheats while updating?
All help is much appreciated.
