During an aborted upgrade from Windows 7 the laptop won't boot up anymore.
Now, during many unsuccessful recovery attempts (using a repair disk and external system image) I get a "Missing Boot Manager" error message.
I am able to get onto the Command Prompt (DOS environment) using the repair disk.
It seems to not see the internal 500 GByte drive.
Also, using the repair disk, I have an option to load drivers (although what drivers may be needed I an unsure of.
Any suggests would be greatly appreciated.

@Ava2Dunk How was the reset attempted, did you make use of the HP Recovery partition (F11) or did you use the HP recovery media?
If you don't have an HP Recovery media and have attempted reset using the windows troubleshooter or a retail copy of windows, you'll need to order a recovery media: Click here for steps.
Or you may also attempt to download the same using the steps on this link: click here
