Hello,
When windows restart the computer for updates installation the computer freeze when stopping.
No other way to stop it than using the power on button.
This issue exists since WIN 10 first installation. replacing WIN 7.
Windows update cannot be installed.
A restart is needed to finish the installation
When a major revision needs to be installed I have to redo a complete installation of windows.
Thanks to help me

Hi Raj1788,
Thanks for the information.
Before doing the system recovery I disconnect every device from my computer and tried a last time to restart
And it worked.
So I re-connected device after device, until it freezes when stopping
It appears it freezes when it is connected to internet using the ethernet port.
If I use WIFI to connect the computer restarts without issue.
So I remove the ethernet cable and everything works good.
Thanks very much for your support

I understand you are facing issue with the windows updates.
No worries, I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Have tried any updates on the printer?
Follow the below steps to fix the issue by disabling the windows update.
- Type “View Installed Updates” in the Search box and then click on View Installed Updates – Control Panel from the Search results.
- Look for any recent updates that got installed and that coincides with the time the audio problem started.
- To uninstall the unwanted update, select it from the list and then click Uninstall.
To temporarily prevent the driver from being reinstalled until a new driver fix is available, a troubleshooter is available that provides a user interface to hide and show Windows updates and drivers for Windows 10.
Click Here to download the " Show and Hide Update " Troubleshooter.
Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.
When you click the download link, you're prompted to open or save wushowhide.diagcab.

Hi RAJ1788,
Thanks for your help.
I ran SFC scan --> no corrupted file found
then I ran the hardware diagnostic
--> memory test passed

--> primary hard disk smart passed
--> secondary harddisk test passed
--> secondary hard disk smart passed
I did the windows update troubleshooter
and the checked for updates --> my sytem is update
So everything seems perfect.
I recheck to restart my comptuter by clicking restart in the startup menu
--> the computer froze when stopping.
I had to push the power on push button to finish the stop and to tbe able to start again
If you have something else to check

Thanks for the update.
Steps for System Recovery:
- Turn off the computer.Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes.
- Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F11 key about once every second until the Choose an option screen is displayed, and then continue.
- On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot.
- On the Troubleshoot screen, click Recovery Manager.
- Under Help, click System Recovery.
- When RecoveryManager prompts you to back up your files, select a backup option:
- The Welcome to HP Recovery Manager screen is displayed. Read the on-screen information, and then disconnect any connected devices and cables, such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes.
- Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
- Click Next to continue.
- When recovery preparation is complete, click Continue to proceed to the installation phase of the recovery process. The computer restarts several times during the recovery. This is normal. Do not close, shut down, or disconnect the computer while HP Recovery runs.
- Recovery Manager reformats the Windows partition and reinstalls the original software.
- After the system recovery is complete, click Finish to restart the computer. Complete the setup screens and wait until the computer finishes the setup.
- Once the setup is complete, turn off the computer, reconnect all devices and cables, and then turn on the computer.
- Before using the computer, update and protect your computer by reinstalling any virus and security software that was installed before the system recovery.
- Reinstall any software programs that were added after purchasing the computer, as well as any files that were backed up.
Eagerly waiting for your reply!
Cheers!
