Hi y'all. Just bought a notebook on eBay recently but no power supply. The guy who sold it to me advertised it as the V5000. Upon receiving it I saw the bottom sticker says it's a C500. But when * ran the serial number on the HP site I got yet another version (HP 250 G6 Notebook). I need to find out which one is correct in order to buy the right supply. Help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi:

You get the 250 G6 because some notebooks that were made exactly 10 years apart may have the same serial number because the 4th digit of the serial number denotes the year of manufacture which will be a 0 - 9, and your notebook does not show up in the support site because HP withdraws support for a model once it reaches 10 years of age.

If you run the serial number in the search window at the link below, it will give you an option to select the notebook you have.

HP PartSurfer

Then it will give you the parts list for your notebook and that should have the power adapter part number and description.
