Pc doesn’t start and capslock beeps three times. Tried taking battery, hdd and ram off and puting back on, but didn’t help.

Any advice?

The three beeps with the Caps Lock flashing is an error code specific to HP laptops, and it typically indicates a hardware issue. Based on the behavior you're describing, the error is most commonly linked to the memory (RAM) or possibly the motherboard.

Here's what the three-beep code typically means:

  • 3 short beeps: This generally indicates a memory (RAM) error. It could mean there's a problem with the RAM module or the RAM slot.

Given that you've already tried reseating the RAM and other components, here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Try Reseating the RAM Again

  • Remove both RAM modules (if you have two) from their slots.
  • Clean the RAM contacts: Gently wipe the golden pins on the RAM with a lint-free cloth, or use a soft brush to remove any dust or debris.
  • Reinstall the RAM one at a time in different slots. If you have two modules, try inserting only one at a time to see if the issue persists with one specific module.

2. Test the RAM

  • If you have access to spare RAM or another compatible laptop, try swapping in the working RAM to see if the problem goes away.
  • If you have only one stick of RAM, and you've reseated it with no change, try testing it in a different slot or using another stick of RAM, if possible, to rule out a faulty stick or slot.

3. Check for Overheating or Loose Connections

  • Overheating can sometimes cause hardware failures or instability, so ensure the laptop is cool and that there's no dust blocking fans or cooling vents.
  • Check all internal connections (like the hard drive, battery, keyboard, etc.) to make sure nothing is loose.

4. Reset the CMOS Battery

  • If possible, try resetting the CMOS battery (a small coin-cell battery on the motherboard), as this can sometimes resolve boot issues.
    1. Remove the CMOS battery for about 5 minutes.
    2. Reinstall the battery and try powering the laptop on again.

5. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Perform a hard reset to drain any residual power:
    1. Power off the laptop completely and disconnect the AC adapter.
    2. Remove the battery.
    3. Hold the power button down for 15-30 seconds to drain any residual power.
    4. Reconnect the battery and the AC adapter, and try turning it on again.
