Dual Boot System always boots to Windows

I have just purchased a Pavilion 17.3" laptop which was supplied with Win 10.  I have re-partitioned the SSD and installed Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS in order that I can dual boot my laptop.  However, on start up the machine automatically boots into Windows without displaying the Grub Menu for me to choose which OS to use.

I have found a work around, pressing Esc on startup , then F9, then choosing Ubuntu after which the Grub menu appears as expected.  However, this is a tortuous way of achieving the desired outcome.  I would therefore be grateful if anyone can offer a solution to this that they have used with success

I'm sorry, but HP only warranties their PCs for usage with the OS that comes preinstalled.

IF you replace that with a Linux distro, or add a Linux distro, then you assume full responsibility for maintaining that -- including solving any problems with booting the other OS and/or installing the other OS.

Modern PCs with UEFI, instead of the older BIOS, are especially difficult to install because you have to go into the UEFI settings and make several changes before you can even boot from a USB stick -- and we are unable to assist in that work.

Your best bet for support now is to contact the support forum of the distro you are using.

Thank you for taking time to reply.

I have just worked it out myself as it happens.  I simply went into the BIOS settings and having, this time, selected Boot from OS, I was presented with the 2 options.  All I had to do was move the Ubuntu one to the top, exit and save and I now get the Grub menu at start up allowing selection of wither Ubuntu or Win 10.
