Laptop Envy 4-1030.  Win8 or 10 (the computer has been unused for a long time.)

Power on > white screen then nothing else.  I do not see or hear any "boot" activity.

No flashing codes.

The hd light flicks on an off sporadically.  Not sure if I can hear the hd spin or not, I have bit of a hearing problem.

At power on, I have been unable to start the configuration by pressing F11 (I assume that's the process).

Attached a separate monitor via HDMI, but the monitor reports no signal.

HP robo chat suggested a reset, followed that, nothing happened.

Old hx: When I got the computer it needed a new screen,  I replaced it successfully.  Computer worked.

This is not a do or die project, but the computer is needed and I would like to get i working.

HOW DO I USE DIAGNOSTICS?

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine if the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures. HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows comes pre-installed on new HP computers, but if not on yours, download here:- http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp93001-93500/sp93457.exe

Thanks for the info.

As the computer does not seem to boot, I have no insight into the CMOS or BIOS except that it could be corrupted.  It seems that it is never executed at power on.

The battery does not charge.

The product #  is C2K72UA#ABA.

The start up sequences you suggested do not work,  I think there is no start up for the sequence to work in, just a powering on.

There is probably internal physical damage or disconnection.

I think this is really just a post mortem. confirming death of the patient  🙂

Maybe I'll do a disection to see what I can see.

No solution, but at least resolution.
