Envy x360 Convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Envy x360 does not power off when shut down from Windows 10. The screen goes black, but the power light and fans remain on. This happens every time.

I found some old threads about this problem, but they were closed with the one-time bandaid solution of pressing and holding the power button. I'm looking for a permanent solution so I can shut down and walk away. I just updated the firmware to whatever version is current as of today, but it made no difference.

Hi@kjkrum, Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  don't Shutdown

Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps

1 . Update the BIOS & Graphic drivers

  1. In Windows, search for and open HP Support Assistant, or click the app icon in the taskbar.

If the app is not installed on your computer, download the latest version from the HP Support Assistant website.

  2. In HP Support Assistant, click My devices, and then click Updates in the window for your device.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
