OMEN by HP 15-ax252nr Laptop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

OMEN 15-ax252nr Laptop BIOS update failed, won't boot.  I tried re-installing all available version of BIOS with no response from laptop.  I tried F.33 Rev.A up through F.55 Rev.A and no change or response from laptop.  I tried F.56 Rev.A and the screen showed me "The System BIOS recovery failed. BIOS image specified did not pass validation."

Is it possible to get the original factory version of the system BIOS?

Hi @Bearhyde

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like you're facing challenges with BIOS recovery on your OMEN 15-ax252nr laptop. To obtain the original factory version of the BIOS, here are some steps you can follow:

1. Check HP Support Website

Visit the HP Support page for your OMEN 15-ax252nr laptop. You can find available BIOS versions and other software updates there. If the original factory BIOS version is not listed, you may need to contact HP directly.

2. Contact HP Support

Reach out to HP Support for assistance in obtaining the factory BIOS version. They may provide you with the specific version or guide you through the recovery process. You can also explore the HP Support Community for similar cases and solutions.

3. Use BIOS Recovery Tools

HP laptops often include a BIOS recovery feature:

  1. Turn off the laptop and press Windows + B or Windows + V while holding the Power button.
  2. Release the buttons when the BIOS recovery screen appears.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to attempt recovery.

4. Clear CMOS

If the BIOS recovery fails, you can try clearing the CMOS:

  1. Turn off the laptop and unplug it.
  2. Remove the battery (if accessible) and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
  3. Reinsert the battery and restart the laptop.

Hello Hawks_Eye,

Thank you for replying.  I have already done the steps that you recommended.  I have downloaded and attempted to install all of the BIOS versions shown on the HP Support site for my OMEN 15-ax252nr laptop.  Also, I found that this model of laptop does not have a CMOS battery.  Who can I reach out to at HP for the factory BIOS?  Can you provide an email or phone number that will get me to an actual person?

Thank you.
