Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Computer starts, screen shows HP logo, but will not boot Windows. After Advanced Test, failed DST-control of HardDisc. Failure-ID: UAGJTQ-6Q49QX-MFPWXG-6QR5Q3. What's wrong?

Hi:

 

The error code translates to one word.  Failed.

 

99% of the time you get one of those codes you need to replace the hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

You may want to consider purchasing a better performing, normally more reliable 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).

 

After you replace the hard drive, you can reinstall W10 as follows...

 

To reinstall W10, you can make your own 8 GB bootable USB W10 64 bit installation media using the media creation tool at the link below.

 

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
