Hi @Manndapannda

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it feels to be locked out of your laptop, especially when you don’t have anything important saved and just want to start fresh.

Since you’d like to perform a hard reset, here’s how you can do that on your HP laptop running Windows 11 or Windows 10:

Steps to reset your HP laptop without the password

1. Access Recovery Options

  • Power on the laptop.
  • At the sign‑in screen, hold down Shift and click Restart (from the power icon in the lower right).
  • The system will reboot into the Windows Recovery Environment.

2. Choose Reset Option

  • In the recovery menu, select Troubleshoot.
  • Then choose Reset this PC.

3. Select Reset Type

  • You’ll be asked whether you want to Keep my files or Remove everything.
  • Since you mentioned you have nothing important, select Remove everything.

4. Cloud or Local Reinstall

  • Choose either Cloud download (downloads a fresh copy of Windows from Microsoft) or Local reinstall (uses files already on your device).
  • Cloud download is more thorough but requires internet access.

5. Complete Reset

  • Follow the on‑screen instructions.
  • The laptop will reset to factory defaults, removing your password and all personal data.
  • Once complete, you’ll be able to set up Windows as if it were new.

You can find detailed guidance here:

This process will give you a clean start and remove the password requirement. Once the reset is complete, you’ll be able to set up your HP laptop again from scratch.
