Hello, i find myself in this bad situation. My young cousin has something done to my 840 g1, but not the os is buggy, but i can no longer acces the uefi utility. as i see, he has put an administartor password in the system , which he doesnt even remeber. all was good until i needed to upgrade my hdd to a ssd, and i can't boot to any device as the bios is asking for an admin password to boot from the flash usb.
so, my q is : how can i reset the bios...do something , so i can instal the windows 10 os, again.
Tahnk you

Welcome to the HP Support Community @frbedi
For that model you will need to contact HP in your region and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.
Just to note:
Do not try removing the RTC battery. It will not remove the password, but it will reset the clock - as SMC files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the SMC will cause it to fail.
