HP Pavilion G7 1320dx
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello everyone, I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 on my latop. It is a Pavilion G7 1320dx Laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I thought everything was working fine, but lately I've noticed that every time I close the laptop, and it goes to sleep, upon reopening the notebook, the screen either remains entirely black and I have to hold the power button to hard reset, or it boots to the "windows did not shutdown properly" screen and forces me to restart anyways, I've tried a few options already and I'm at wits end. I've updated the BIOS, tried a hard reset for 30 seconds with the battery removed, checked multiple drivers etc. If anyone can even possibly provide some insight on this issue I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if installing the AM Chipset drivers resolves that problem.

You want the 1st file listed on the webpage.  Install and restart the PC.

Wow... these forums never cease to amaze me, not once have I asked for help from this community and been dissapointed with the result I've received, everything is running absolutely perfectly and I'm just happy I can transport my laptop in sleep mode without having to wait for it to reboot every time now. Thank you Paul Tikkanen, and a thanks to the rest of the community as well for being so dedicated!
