Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Hello All,

I have been through the boards and I have tried almost everything and yet the HP 2000 laptop I am trying to fix just can't boot.  The issue started because there were some shutdown probelms with the computer.  I decided to upgrade the bios and that is when it stoped working.  I successfuly installed bios f.49 and I can see it in the diagnostic menu.  The only menu I am able to bring up is the bios and the disgnostic menu.  Everything else from the recovery partition to the boot drive, including a linux usb and a windows bootable installer wont boot.  I have even tried to turn of secure boot and tried to boot off legacy mode.  Still no boot.  I have tried rolling back the bios but it won't let me.  The only thing I can do is update the bios again which I have several more times.  All bios updates are successfull, yet it still cannot boot.  In the bios menu, I look at the system menu and have an 0021 along with a time stamp but I am confused as to what that means because I can't seem to google what it means.  HD has been removed and tested, and I am about to switch the ram just to make sure, but I figured I'd post here and see if anyone has any advice on things I have not tried.  I have done almost everything from reseating the ram, to a hard reset, to Windows B, to try and rectifiy this but still have no luck.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I ended up getting a new motherboard instead.  New motherboard is at stock firmware and while there still some power issues with this model, I am not risking another bios update.
