Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

My notebook has been behaving strange since several months. It would crash regularly, sometimes just shutting off or giving me a BSOD. It would always just restart like normal after these crashes. But last friday it did not boot anymore. When I press the on/off button, the power LED is on and the CAPS LOCK led is flashing regularly. I do not hear the ventilator spinning, nor does the screen turn on.

Would this be a motherboard failure or something else?

Thanks,

kenn23

Hi

It suspects there is some hardware failure with the notebook.

There is always a pattern for led blinks in caps lock, below are some common blink codes:

1  >> CPU
2  >> BIOS
3  >> Memory
4  >> Graphics
5  >> System Board

Troubleshooting you can perform

>> Remove Power adapter, battery & all external components like: usb devices - Network cable... etc.

>> Press and hold power button for 15-20 seconds without connecting any above mention compnonets.

>> Insert power adapter only & try to power On.

>> If issue persist, please contact HP.
