10 Oct 2024, During MS windows update there was a proposition to update my notebook firmware. I agreed. After flash and reboot - black screen no beep no lights.
I have created bios recovery USB. While pressing Win+B during boot I can see that HDD activity led blinks one time and after few seconds second time. The USB key flashes indicating that it can been seen. The laptop then loads BIOS recovery BUT is not reading from USB
USB is 32 Gb, formatted fat 32. Have downloaded SP154498.exe and run it On USB there are 2 folders Hewlett-Packard and HP created with some subfolders.
When I did the Bios update the pc was fully charged and with the power supply inserted. Unfortunately, no message comes up on the screen. When I turn on the pc, the screen just turns black (no hp logo, nothing at all).
However reading on various forums, the same problem happened to others with the same bios version F.71. One solved by changing the motherboard, while the other changed the bios chip (reprogramming it)

You can replace the bios, replace the motherboard or possibly program the chip using a 341 programming tool.

You have done everything correct.
Try using an old bios instead of the most recent one.

Download and try the F.65 bios as it was the last one that actually did something IMHO.
Else try the previous one, F.74
be sure to do the the ctrl-v (CMOS reset) Maybe try this first!
Follow the steps below to reset computer CMOS data.
1. Turn off the computer. |

@BeemerBiker Thanks for the reply. Windows and the V key doesn't seem to do anything. Unable to get into BIOS, pressing Press F10 is a black screen Bottom left hand corner is F10 Bios setup options and it doesn't goes past there
Pressing the ESC Key is a black screen Bottom left hand corner is ESC pausing startup.
F71 is the one that fell over F74 is the latest I will try to find F65 and give that a whirl
Been pulling my hair and trying everything for2 days
