I have an HP 255 G7 that will not boot.
When I plug in the Power Cable the white light comes on and stays on solid. This is the case using 2 different cables and 2 different power adapters. When I press the Power Button a white light comes on in the diagonally opposite corner in a small card that is attached to the Motherboard by a ribbon cable, This light stays on for about 4 seconds then goes out.
Nothing else happens, there are no Beeps, the fan doesn't start, there is no hint of the screen springing into life.
I have tried this with the battery removed and with the RAM removed and it makes no difference.
I am assuming that the Motherboard is dead, but it's the fact that the Power gets across to the opposite side of the device that is holding me back from that being my final decision. Is there anything else I can do or test, bearing in mind I am not an electrician and don't have a volt meter or anything like that ?!?!?
