Hi, my company laptop (HP 640 G1) was working fine yesterday. this morning when I tried to power it on, it was not working. I removed the laptop from the docking station and tried, same problem. I removed the battery and tried with power adaptor only, same problem. I inserted the battery back and tried, same issue. I removed the RAM and reinsert still same issue. I tried different power adaptor but same problem. Is my laptop mainboard faulty?

Hello,
Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting !
I am sorry for the issue you experience.
I am unable to tell you exactly what is wrong since I haven't diagnosed it. However, if it does not power up at all, it may end up in service.
Please, check these articles:

If nothing helps you will need to send the computer for service.
* If this is company owned asset and if your company has an IT department, please turn to the local IT department and support team.
* If this is personal asset, you may need to bring it or ship it to HP authorized service center. If the computer is still under warranty, you need to notify HP Support first. If you are not sure where such a center is located, you can also contact HP support for assistance to find it. Here is more info:

Hi
I have tried the hard reset, but it did not work for me. I then removed the clip for what i think the cmos battery was and was able to start up. Then I shut it down again, reconnected the clip and started it up. Problem solved for me
