Sounds like that - that is to stop error message and uninstall the software nicely.  I don't know how HP spending more money to fix Microsoft destroyer ship.

They have to spend the money. Many laptops under warranty/CarePak. We will see what becomes of it next Patch Tuesday.

SP83846 has installed a corrected driver. You seem to be well ahead of HP's website!

Banhien, your post finally made things work for me too. HP's driver webpage is still posting SP82228, and that's what HP Support Assistant used to keep downloading, instead of SP83846.

 

Meanwhile, I am having problems with my 17-g121wm keeps crashing (just drops completely all of sudden) since Windows 1709 update. I posted the issue in this forum, but HP people just keep giving generic answers like reinstall the whole thing. Another user with the same machine with the same issue did that but didn't solve anything, and all other generic methods have failed. 

I am suspecting BIOS or something is not catching up with 1709 update. This HP accelorometer issue tells me HP's driver website is not up to date, and cannot be trusted. Do you happen to know if there are newer BIOS and any other drivers for my computer that are not posted?
