- Is it even possible to update BIOS current version 1.36 to add UEFI capability? If so, where/how to get it?

No BIOS update will convert your PC's BIOS to UEFI.

 

UEFI was not offered in that HP business notebook series until the 8730w came out.

 

You don't need a UEFI BIOS unless you planned on installing a drive that was greater than 2 TB.
