Hi @yigit34557

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing the details—I'm really sorry your HP ENVY x360 isn’t powering on properly. It’s especially concerning when the power button light stays on but the system remains unresponsive.

Let’s walk through a few focused steps to help bring your laptop back to life.

Steps to Recover a Non-Responsive HP ENVY x360

1. Perform a Hardware Reset

This clears residual power and resets hardware signals.

  • Disconnect the charger and any connected devices
  • Press and hold the Power button for 30–60 seconds
  • Release the button, reconnect the charger, and try powering on again

2. Try AC-Only Boot

This helps isolate battery-related issues.

  • Disconnect the internal battery (if accessible) or leave the laptop unplugged for 5 minutes
  • Plug in the charger only (no battery or peripherals)
  • Press the Power button and observe any fan movement or screen flicker

3. Check for Display Output

Sometimes the system powers on but the screen remains blank.

  • Shine a flashlight at an angle on the screen to check for faint images
  • Connect the laptop to an external monitor via HDMI or USB-C
  • Press Windows + P and tap arrow keys to cycle display modes

4. Use BIOS Recovery Shortcut

If the system is stuck at firmware level, this may trigger recovery.

  • Power off the laptop
  • Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds
  • Release all keys and wait up to 30 seconds
  • Listen for fan spin or observe screen activity

5. Confirm Charger and Port Functionality

Even if the battery charges, the system may not receive enough power to boot.

  • Try a different wall outlet
  • Inspect the charger tip and port for debris or damage
  • If available, test with a compatible HP USB-C or barrel charger

Let me know if you’d like help locating the service manual or checking your model’s battery and power specs. Once these steps are complete, your system should show signs of life again.

hi, the laptop sometimes turns on normally after not responding for two days but even when it turns on it turns off automatically, i was able to access the desktop and everything was normal when it turned on but then it suddenly turns off again an then turns ON again. When it turns off it’s not a complete shutdown i assume cuz when it turns on, it shows directly the lock screen and not the HP logo, but the power light on the power button goes off so i’m confused. It charges normally and there is nothing unusual to see on the screen. I literally have no idea why all these are happening cuz there was literally nothing unnormal going on with the laptop. ( It did not fall, no water etc)

Thanks for the detailed follow-up—it’s genuinely frustrating when a laptop behaves erratically like this, especially when everything seems fine on the surface. The fact that your HP ENVY x360 15fe-0006nt sometimes boots straight to the lock screen and then powers off unexpectedly suggests a deeper issue with power delivery, firmware, or system board signaling.

Let’s walk through a more advanced recovery sequence to help stabilize the system and rule out hidden faults.

Step-by-Step Recovery for Intermittent Power and Auto Shutdown

1. Deep Hardware Reset

This clears embedded controller glitches that can cause unstable boot behavior.

  • Disconnect the charger and all peripherals.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 60 seconds.
  • Release the button, wait 10 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Try powering on again.

2. BIOS Recovery (Force Firmware Check)

This can help if the system is stuck in a low-power firmware loop.

  • Power off the laptop completely.
  • Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release all keys and wait up to 30 seconds.
  • Watch for screen flicker or fan spin.

More info: HP BIOS Recovery Guide

3. Isolate Battery and Power Circuit

If the system turns off abruptly and skips POST (no HP logo), it may be a battery or power rail issue.

  • If you're comfortable opening the back panel:
    • Disconnect the internal battery cable.
    • Leave the laptop unplugged for 5 minutes.
    • Plug in the charger only (no battery).
    • Try powering on and observe fan or screen behavior.
  • If not, skip to the next step and monitor charging behavior.

4. Monitor Charging and Sleep Behavior

Since the system sometimes resumes to the lock screen, it may be entering Modern Standby or Connected Sleep, then failing to resume properly.

  • When the system is on, go to Settings > System > Power & Battery > Screen and Sleep.
  • Set all sleep timers to “Never” temporarily.
  • Disable Fast Startup:
    • Press Windows + R, type control, press Enter.
    • Go to Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
    • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
    • Uncheck Turn on fast startup, then save.

5. Update BIOS and Chipset (if system stays on long enough)

If you can keep the system on for a few minutes:

These updates help stabilize power management and resume behavior.

If the laptop continues to power off randomly even after these steps, I can help you explore diagnostics from the HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics tool or guide you through creating a bootable USB for offline testing. Just let me know how it responds after this round.
