Product: HP EliteBook x360 830 G8 Notebook PC IDS Base Model
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
So to keep it short I was basically held hostage (well, my laptop was) by a repair tech as when I refused to pay £245 to recover some files off my laptop an "apprentice" put a bios password on it and demanded i paid them. The police got involved and I got my laptop back minus the password. The owner said the kid left and not seen him since.
So apparently now I have a nearly £2000 paperweight as even though I have the original receipt and registered with HP in my name and still under warranty, there is NOTHING I CAN DO or should I say nothing HP will do.
Does anyone else have any ideas
Many thanks,
Josh.
