Hello, I have a HP Envy 360 running windows 11. It switches on but does not load the normal start screen. It just stays blank. The fans and everything are running and i cant get it to load into safe mode or get into the bios. I have created a bios update usb disk but it wont load that either. This happened about about 6 months ago too and the computer repair shop performed a bios recovery which seemed to have fixed it until now. I have tried every key combination provided on the internet to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi @blees3469,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Envy 360 is experiencing a persistent issue that may be related to the BIOS, hardware, or firmware. Since the repair shop previously performed a BIOS recovery to resolve the issue, it could indicate an underlying hardware problem causing the BIOS to corrupt over time. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue.

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the laptop and disconnect all external devices (e.g., USB drives, monitors).
  2. Disconnect the power adapter.
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
  4. Reconnect the power adapter and try turning it on.

Attempt BIOS Recovery

Since the normal boot and BIOS USB recovery are not working, try forcing a BIOS recovery directly:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold the Windows key + B (or V on some models).
  3. While holding these keys, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds, then release the power button (keep holding Windows + B/V).
  4. If successful, the screen may light up, and the system will attempt to restore the BIOS.

Check the Display

Ensure the issue is not related to the screen:

  1. Connect the laptop to an external monitor using HDMI or another supported cable.
  2. If the external display works, it may indicate an issue with the laptop's internal display or its connection.

Reset CMOS

If the above steps don't help, reset the CMOS (this requires opening the laptop):

  1. Turn off and unplug the laptop.
  2. Open the laptop case and locate the CMOS battery (a small coin-shaped battery on the motherboard).
  3. Remove the battery, wait 5-10 minutes, then reinstall it.
  4. Close the laptop, plug it in, and try turning it on.

Inspect RAM and Storage

  1. Reseat the RAM and SSD/HDD. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause boot issues.
  2. If possible, test with another compatible RAM module or storage drive.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
