HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ee1000 (2E2L0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

The computer would randomly display the "oops" message stating that there was a problem and it had to restart.  This use to happen once every few days.  Over a period of months, it got worse and started to happen once a day.  It further deteriorated and started happening a few times a day to where it became unusable.  Took it to a big box electronic store and they replaced the entire OS.  Brought it home, and after about an hour of setting it back up, it happened again.  Twice.

So, I took it back to the big box store that specializes in consumer electronics, and they said it was probably a motherboard.  I put it on the counter, and it would not malfunction.  Desperately needing a computer, I purchased a new one (a different brand).  The next day, I needed to use my computer, as the new computer had not arrived yet.  I remembered that it didn't mess up at the store, so I thought I might try it without the power cord.  So far it has not messed up. I see other post on the hp site that stated they too had issues with the power cord, but that it worked without the power cord.

Can I order a new power cord for this unit?  The laptop is two years old, but I don't know if HP sells replacement power cords for this unit.

I have 60 days to return the new computer I bought, so I would like to know if its the power cord, or something inside the computer itself that is causing this problem.  How can I further assure myself that its the power cord, and not the laptop itself?

I'd be happy to help you!

To buy the power cord, we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers who should be able to sort this out.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.
