HP Envy x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-fe0000 (77X86AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Envy x360 2 in 1 with Win 11 Home 24H2. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse connected to a push button switch that shares one keyboard, mouse and HDMI monitor. I keep the lid closed and have a second laptop sitting on top of it that also shares the switch for the mouse, keyboard and monitor. This laptop is a Dell and it wakes every single time I move the mouse or touch the keyboard. However, the HP laptop does not seem to want to wake from sleep mode unless I open the lid slightly and then it will wake up. This used to work well every time however over the last few months it seems to not wake up and I am forced to lift the lid slightly to wake it up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

HP Envy x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-fe0000: Wake-on-Mouse/Keyboard Issue

It sounds like you're experiencing difficulties with your HP Envy x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC (model 15-fe0000) not waking from sleep when using a shared wireless keyboard and mouse through a switch, while your Dell laptop does support this feature seamlessly.

Possible Solutions:

Check Power Management Settings:

  • Navigate to Device Manager:
    • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Keyboards and Mice and other pointing devices sections.
  • For each device (keyboard and mouse), right-click and select Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab.
  • Ensure that the option "Allow this device to wake the computer" is checked.

Adjust Keyboard and Mouse Settings:

  • Open Control Panel.
  • Go to Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
  • Click on Change plan settings beside the selected power plan.
  • Click on Change advanced power settings.
  • Expand USB settings and USB selective suspend setting.
  • Disable the USB selective suspend setting.

Check BIOS/UEFI:

  • Access BIOS/UEFI settings during startup (often by pressing F10, Esc, or another specific key during boot).
  • Look for settings related to keyboard and mouse wake functionality.
  • Ensure these settings permit waking from these devices.

Driver Updates:

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
