Hi @Deicaros,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble after replacing the battery. Since the notebook is showing a flashing power LED for a few seconds and then shutting off, I'd like to gather a bit more information before proceeding.

A few questions:

  • When you attempted the BIOS Recovery (Windows + B), did you have the charger plugged into the notebook the entire time?
  • When you connect the charger, do you see any charging light near the power connector?
    • If yes, is it solid or blinking?
    • If blinking, what color is it?
  • Do you see any Caps Lock or Num Lock blinking patterns when you press the power button?

Please try BIOS Recovery again with the charger connected

  1. Connect the HP charger to the notebook.
  2. Make sure the charger LED (if present) indicates power is reaching the system.
  3. Press and hold Windows + B.
  4. While holding those keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  5. Release only the Power button and continue holding Windows + B for up to 40 seconds.

Let us know if you get any response, such as a BIOS Recovery screen, beeps, fan activity, or display output.

If the notebook powers on with the charger

If you can get the notebook running while connected to AC power, please run the HP Hardware Diagnostics:

  1. Power on the notebook and repeatedly tap Esc.
  2. Press F2 for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  3. Run the Battery Test and share the results.

Since the issue began immediately after replacing the battery, it is also worth confirming:

  • Is the replacement battery a genuine HP battery or a third-party replacement?
  • Was the notebook functioning normally before the battery replacement?

Please let us know what lights you see when the charger is connected and whether the BIOS Recovery behaves any differently with the charger attached.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
