I recently changed my pentium t4500 mobile cpu to a core 2 duo t9900 mobile cpu and the caps lock is blinking with a pattern of 3 long blinks. Nothing else. I cant install bios update because it's a retired laptop. Any fixes? Also im running InsydeH2P bios utility rev F.15

The reason that the T9900 isn't working is because your notebook comes with a motherboard with the Intel GL40 chipset.

The Intel GL40 chipset can only support processors with an 800 MHz FSB and the T9900 has a 1066 MHz FSB.
If you want to upgrade the processor, the best one you can install in your notebook would be the T9500.

There's nothing you can do to get that processor to work in your notebook.
The Intel GL40 chipset can't support it--with or without a BIOS update.
Whoever told you that the T9900 would work was wrong.
If your g62 notebook had a motherboard with the GM45 chipset, the T9900 would have worked fine.
