Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Flickering Screen and Lines on an HP Laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing screen issues with your HP laptop. Screen flickering and lines can arise due to several reasons such as software glitches, driver issues, or hardware problems. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Right-click on the Start button and choose Device Manager.
- Locate Display adapters and click to expand the list.
- Right-click your graphics card, select Update driver, and choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update the drivers.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
Use Task Manager:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- If the screen flickers while in Task Manager, it could indicate a more serious hardware problem.
Perform a System Restore:
- If the issue started recently, you may try to restore your computer to an earlier point in time.
- Search for "Create a restore point" in the Windows search bar and select it.
- Click on System Restore and follow the prompts to choose a restore point and revert your system to a previous state.
Check Hardware Connections:
- Ensure all external hardware connections (such as monitors or docks) are secure.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
