Hi:
Windows should be able to find the drive on a notebook with an Intel Comet Lake processor.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool to reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Customer Support
You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, so you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.
Your PC's product number is: 1B9S3UA#ABA

You're very welcome.
Sorry, that didn't work for you.
Try installing the storage controller drivers this way if you have not done so already.
I have zipped up and attached the storage controller drivers for the Comet Lake processors, below.
Unzip the file to its folder and then copy and paste all of the files in the folder to a USB flash drive without the folder.
Have the flash drive and your W11 installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the W11 installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
Click Next, and hopefully, Windows should find the drive and install.

Your Reply is once again appreciated. So the thing is after I tried your fix, and got that error I tried to redo a os install and this time around the drives showed up!!!
Happy i was. I performed the updates, but I had to force shutdown the pc. Next morning I turned it on and it was booting up fine, but after I had shut it down to reboot again it took about 10 minutes to boot. A few times I'll get checksum errors, blank screen, a dialog telling me to check diagnostic for the ssd.
