Currently I have a HP omen transcend 16 2024.
Ever since the updates my laptop has been giving me ALOT of headaches.
Random crashes, Words (not the office) artifact, black screen, battery capacity degrading, you name it
I have all methods possible tried windows key + B both before and after reseating SSD, reseating battery, reseating RAM, F2, F10, hard reset, soft reset and connecting external monitor (monitor not displaying anything).
First time round when gaming monster hunter wilds, no issue until a few hours later, it crashed with loud beep noise, hard reset it, black screen, I reseated all things possible and did windows key + B it worked, reinstall / update firmware and it sort of worked, no black screen but there was the word artifacting. It does seem to be in a single spot as in, when I open edge browser and scroll, the artifacting follows that certain word, it also happens in the game.
maybe 3 - 4 days later it started crashing again, this time I saw that there was an intel update, I updated it and restarted before it even finish loading the startup software it keeps crashing. Had to hard reset it maybe 3 times before it decided to just die, just black screen. I tried all methods mentioned above to try to get it to even boot up all got was fan was working.
My warranty is just up maybe a month or so. How can I fix this? I have contacted HP WhatsApp support and the response was really slow... finally just recently they say they will raise it up with the product specialist. Will they still honor the warranty and fix it for me at no additional cost?
Saw someone saying in the forum that I might have 2 years warranty due to non us consumer. I am based in Australia.
Can someone please shed some light in this dark tunnel.

Hi @Don0610,
I completely understand how frustrating it must be to experience ongoing crashes, artifacting, black screens, and other performance issues with your HP Omen Transcend 16 (2024). It sounds like you've put in a lot of effort with reseating components, BIOS recovery attempts, and updating drivers — I’m sorry you're still facing these issues despite all that hard work.
Let's Try These Additional Steps:
- Perform a BIOS Recovery (Using Windows + B):
- Since you mentioned this worked once before, try this again with the battery removed (if removable) and only the power adapter connected.
- Press and hold Windows + B and Power simultaneously until the screen powers on or a series of beeps are heard.
- Test for Hardware Failures (If You Can Access BIOS):
- If the PC boots into BIOS (F2 during startup), run the System Diagnostics to check for memory, battery, and hard drive issues.
- F10 (BIOS settings) → Ensure the boot order is correct.
- Safe Mode Boot (If Possible):
- If you can boot into Safe Mode, uninstall the most recent Intel or Windows updates causing crashes.
- CMOS Battery Check:
- Reseating the CMOS battery or performing a CMOS reset might help in case of BIOS corruption.
- Reseating the CMOS battery or performing a CMOS reset might help in case of BIOS corruption.
Regarding Warranty and Support:
You mentioned your warranty recently expired by about a month, but in some regions, including Australia the warranty differs, to help better I would request that you get us the case number of the serial number so we can try to check and get all the help.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi VikramThe Great,
So I managed to get it to boot by letting the battery die and do a hard reset. power on, and off with 15 seconds hold on power, let it discharge by holding power button for 15 seconds until led disappear. I did the https://ftp.hp.com/pub/idr/ImageDiags4/ImageDiags.exe and sent the link to the HP support.
Now I tried resetting the PC and I left it for resetting, came back to a black screen again. I am really at a loss on what to do. (Edited)
I have tried all the methods you have listed and to no effect. It is just dead, black screen. I hope HP and still honor the warranty as seeing that the warranty has barely ended. This is my first HP laptop and was recommended by a friend that said HP has helped him out in a similar case, even after his warranty has ended, HP still sent some parts over for him to fix his desktop. So, I am hopeful for this kind favor from HP.
Kind regards,
Don
