My ancient Desktop HP Pro 3400 Micro-tower freezes at the HP Logo boot logo and will not go any further denying me access to bios. I have flashed my cmos it has not worked. I tried holding the power button to reset the computer 60 seconds & 15 seconds which has not worked. I used the button combinations of the win+B+ power button combinations that have not worked. I tried the win+v+power combination that has not worked.. I have removed every single item (RAM, Hard Drive) disconnected everything, still no change.

I came across HP PC Hardware Diagnostics 4-in-1 USB Key but the instructions are written by someone who thinks we are all proficient at DOS.

Unfortunately the BIOS file for this particular model does not give the option to create a boot able USB flash disk & i cannot figure out how to create one manually. When i pick a specific F Keyboard function it boots into the first page in BIOS showing the F key function at the bottom right of the screen but freezes from there.

I would appreciate any detailed help to help me solve this problem. Especially a good detailed tutorial of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics 4-in-1 USB Key.

Thanks in advance.

I also recently encountered this problem, but the solution was very simple. All you need to do is open the system case and install the blue plugs that are on the motherboard, as shown in the photo.
