HP ProBook 450 G0 Notebook PC

Hello community,

PC doesn't want to fully boot anymore.

Have tried all possible tests and recovery options.

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI results:

SMART Check : PASSED

Short DST : FAILED

FAILURE ID Hard Drive 1 :  PLMA1D-6PR000-QFPJXG-60W603

I guess hard drive is dead and/or missing boot files.

Where can I find information on these failure IDs?

Whats is the procedure to repair?

Thank you.

@DavidL32,

You may get some info from this link about the failure code.

Most likely, you need to replace the hard drive and reinstall Windows 10 to a new drive.

I suggest that you install a 2.5" SATA3 SSD drive, which is about four times faster than a mechanical hard drive. You should be able to install a 1 or 2 TB 2.5" SSD without any issues if you want such a large size.

You need to create a bootable Windows 10 installation usb drive from Windows Media Creation Tool from this link.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

If you've never done a Windows installation from Media Creation Tool, here're a couple of online articles.
