I've had this Pavilion 14 bf102tx for a while since I bought it around 2018, it has worked a real charm especially when I upgraded it to an SSD and gave it 16GB of RAM in 2020. Recently though, it has had an issue where the device would just randomly fully lock up with the exception of the fan and the status lights at the side continuing to work seemingly fine. No keypress, and mouse input would do anything, unless I forced the system to shut off by long pressing the power button.
I've taken the device to a repair shop and they said they have tried everything to diagnose the issue. Different RAM, testing different RAM slots, doing a clean install of Windows 10 on a different SSD, installing Ubuntu, using it without the battery, repasting. Nothing worked. One thing they noted though was that booting the laptop from a USB stick or the BIOS seemed to get rid of the issue, it seems that the issue just generally happens when it comes to booting off the OS installed on the computer? Has anyone experienced the same issue and could share a solution?
Would love to know
