Ok so basically the laptop was working fine hours before. Then I opened it up, powered it on, and signed into my account, everything worked fine. I clicked to open my browser and the screen (still lit) went black. Powered it off and now it won't turn on.

Tried powering it back on and off both with and without the charger connected. It did turn on a couple times with the screen either lit but still black or completely off. Now it's stuck seemingly in sleep mode while the power light keeps blinking. Tried hard resetting and still nothing. There's no beeping, the fan doesn't do anything anymore, nothing. Every time I try booting it up it just gets stuck in power light blinking mode with no screen.

@ThatGuySeph Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the laptop screen is blank and power lights blink.

Do not worry.

Perform the below steps to resolve this issue:

Symptoms: Battery power LED blinks, and Caps Lock/Num Lock off

Possible failure: AC adapter not connected or failure / Battery low charge or failure

If the battery power LED and the LEDs near the Num Lock and Caps Lock keys do not glow when the computer is disconnected from the AC adapter, then the battery has a very low charge or is not charged at all. Try the following two procedures for diagnosing the power issue:

Charge the battery:

Use the following steps to charge the battery.

  1. Connect the AC power adapter, and verify that the battery power LED glows.

  2. Allow the battery to charge for 15 - 30 minutes.

  3. Attempt to start the computer.
