i have this laptop and every time i try to use the HP Cloud Recovery usb it fails   and When ive tried the Windows media creations usb for Windows 11, i can secure boot and erase the old windows drive and re-install a fresh windows, within minuets of finally getting to the windows desktop the first time, it blue screens, reboots and say that the start up is corrupted and needs repair,   but none of the repair option work and theres nothing to do but again try a fresh install of windows or of the HP cloud recovery usb and again to get errors logs and a still bricked laptop, more use as a paper weight

I have been wondering if these SSD drives can corrupt its boot area and that be why the machine cant reinstall Win11/HPCloud as the crutial area of the drive is failing and need replacement.

All advise is welcome #

Hi    I've taken a day or so to try your suggested fixes an although the laptop does not have the option for extensive tests, i have run all the test options it has several times, including the CPU load test at 30 mins in length a couple of times.

i have tried the cloud restore key a couple of times aswell and it keeps failing at this screen,

if i try other options to try and boot the machine i also get

Trying to install HP Cloud Recovery or Windows 11 Install media just doesnt work

In Hopes that it is a problem with the BCD ive tried to follow the instructions on this site for a BCD repair using the command prompt.    but commands like

bootrec /fixboot     fails as access denied

and

bootrec /rebuilldbcd

claims the total identified windows installations = 0 Zero

and it doesnt help to fix the boot failings and it doesnt allow a successful install from the cloud recovery software pack

or from the Windows 11 Install media

please Advise

I have followed that link and it would not help me contact anyone at HP support, i am aware the warranty has expired but i am of the belief that the Harddrive has possibly failed in some way that the diagnostic's function does not diagnose at all, and thats why the harddrive wont accept a new install of the cloud recovery or windows install,

even though the laptop is over a year old, can the harddrive fail in this way and is the harddrive not covered in a longer manufacturers warranty ??

please Help and advise
