HP Pavilion x360 m3 Convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I recently updated my laptop to the latest version of Windows 10 (version 1909), and now each time I close the lid my laptop restarts. Any help is appreciated!

@MAU14 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the HP Pavilion x360 restarts every time lid is closed.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Please perform the below steps and check.

  1. Right-click on the Start menu, then choose Control Panel.
  2. Change the View by: option on the upper-right-part of the screen to Small icons.
  3. Choose Power Options.
  4. Select your power plan (e.g. High Performance), then choose Change plan settings.
  5. Click Change advanced power settings.
  6. Go to Sleep settings, then disable hybrid sleep.
  7. Under Power Buttons and Lid, check if Sleep is chosen as action when lid is close.
  8. Hit Apply and OK.

If the lid close action is set to Sleep, we suggest checking if your drivers are up-to-date.

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.
