Microsoft Windows 11

I'm writing here to seek some guidance and assistance with a concerning issue I've been experiencing with my new HP laptop, which is approximately 3 months old.

The problem I'm facing is that my laptop's battery appears to be draining even when the laptop is completely powered off. I've made sure to shut down the laptop properly, but when I power it back on after a period of inactivity, I notice a significant drop in the battery charge. This issue is frustrating, especially since I expect the battery to hold its charge better on a new laptop.

I've already tried a few troubleshooting steps such as updating the BIOS, checking for software updates, and ensuring that no peripherals or accessories are connected when shutting down the laptop. However, the issue persists.

I would greatly appreciate any insights, suggestions, or solutions from the community or HP support experts who may have encountered a similar problem or have expertise in diagnosing and resolving battery drain issues on HP laptops.

Is there any specific diagnostic tool or software I can use to identify the cause of this battery drain while the laptop is off? Or are there any known firmware updates or fixes for this issue?

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to your input and recommendations to help resolve this issue and ensure that my new HP laptop's battery performs optimally.

Regards
KP

Hi,

i have the same Problem with my 455 G9. It has an accu drain while off from round about 6% per Day. HP Business Support checks the settings and nothing has helped. Than HP stated, that up to 10% per Day is normal and in spec. But this spec can't be found anywhere. I never had bought this Laptop, if i can read this in a spec before.

The problem is independently from the OS. In BIOS, wake on LAN and charging over USB are disabled. I've 2 other older ProBooks (on Work, and in family) and none of them have this problem. I hope that there will be a BIOS Update  which solves this issue in the future (which have HP done on other models).
