Probook 6460b
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I bought a refurbished HP Probook 6460b that came with Windows 7 - 64 bit. By mistake I got a virus that made me format my HDD and since I didn't have a Win 7 - 64 bits, I installed Win 7 - 32 bits. Then I upgrade to Win 10- 32 bits. Now I got Windows 10- 64 bits and I have to install it as clean installation. My problem is that when I try to boot from the DVD, the notebook jumps to start Windows normally. I tried ESC, F9 but I don't know which option is the one to boot from DVD as I don't see that option. Help me please. Thanks

Hi,

Go through Option 2 in the tenforums tutorial link posted in my first post to Create Bootable USB Flash Drive for Installing Windows 10 using Legacy BIOS (without UEFI).

Hi,

How did you make the Windows 10 x64 installation media?

The ISO might not have mounted properly to be a bootable media.

Is it UEFI/non UEFI bootable media?

I prefer USB over DVD:

When was the late time the DVD drive worked? If your going straight to Windows without F9 options for DVD drive that would means it not longer works.

I created the ISO and the DVD from Microsoft and I made it to boot up.

prt screen.PNGI include an image of the folders on the DVD.

What's next please?

Then the media that was created probably has some problem preventing from reading at a Boot media.

If that so, I'll try with another bootable Windows DVD I have. However, tell me how to set my HP to boot for DVD please.

Hi,

Disable secure boot, enable legacy in BIOS. Check if you can see DVD to boot from again.

Hello, I got to my BIOS but in Boot options, there is no Secure boot to Enable or Disable. I disable UEFI and in Legacy Order, I put CD Rom first but the notebook still boots up normally and goes to Windows
