Spacemanlou,

I reinstalled the cumulative Windows update and went back an unchecked App Rediness.

I have both my desktop screen back and updates!  Sweet.  Thanks, again!!

Easy fix:

from the search bar type command prompt, opening a command prompt window

in the command prompt type msconfig

Click on the services tab

uncheck app readiness

Then Restart

how can i uninstall the most recent windows update when i can't even see anything? Once I login, the screen turns black and all I can see is my white mouse on the screen

Worked fine until I updated Windows during intial setup.  Then black screen after Windows login with just the white mouse arrow. Fix for me it to hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete, Task Manager, System, go to services tab and restart App Readiness.  Boot is failing every time but restarting the App Rediness service works each time

Worked for me but I didn't need to uninstall the update.

While the screen was black I used ctrl alt delete to open task manager.
Then went to file -> run new task
Types "msconfig"
Under services disables app readiness.

Same result I hope.

I am facing the same problem in my pavilion x360. Black screen coming on for about 15 minutes before i login and there was a latency in the touch as well. HP told me to disable my windows update for the time being to solve this problem temporarily. Working for now.
