HP Stream 14
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My daughter's HP Stream 14 stopped working 2 days ago.  It will not power up and now I cannot get the charging light to come on when I plug in the power adapter.  I've tried to reset the laptop by holding down the power button but it has not resolved the issue.  I'm looking for any other suggestions or tips to try and get the machine to boot up.

Thanks in advance,

Gordon

Turns out the power cord was bad.  I tried a different adapter and it charged the laptop and I'm able to start it now.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Remove AC adapter.

Remove the battery.

Hold down the power button for 30 seconds.

Plug in AC adapter without the battery.

Does the laptop boot?

@leee488

I have attempted the steps you noted, except for removing the battery as this laptop is sealed and doesn't have a removable battery.

After all those steps it still does not appear to charge (no light near the spot where the adapter plugs in) and no other buttons light up.

I did notice that the spot where I plug in the adapter seems to "wiggle" when I plug it in......maybe that could be causing it to not charge?

That could be the problem.  If you are able to plug that AC adapter into another laptop and it works, then it is very likey the laptop itself that is faulty.
