15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb1000 (7Y8M8AV
Microsoft Windows 11

HEllo

hope that anyone can guide me on the right direction, the laptop "HP VICTUS 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb1000 (7Y8M8AV" randomly shuts down and when it boot it shows the blue screen that says AUTOMATIC REPAIR, your PC did not start correctly.
If I go into advanced options and hit restart normally it will boot correctly.
Already did a factory reset and reinstalled the OS, also went to download from the HP Cloud repository the rebuilt image for this equipment and did a full restore, also tried updating the BIOS. and keeps have the same issue

Used the HP diagnostic tool running it on loop and no problem was found on any of the components

@Malancr, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Random Reboots on HP Victus Gaming Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Victus 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop (15-fb1000) is experiencing random reboots and shows the "Automatic Repair" window, here are steps you can take to diagnose and resolve the issue:

1. Check for Windows Updates

Ensure your operating system has the latest updates installed:

  1. Click on the Windows Start button.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  3. Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

2. Update Drivers

Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause random reboots. Update all system drivers:

  1. Visit the HP Support page.
  2. Enter your model number (15-fb1000) and select your operating system.
  3. Download and install the latest drivers, particularly for the graphics card and chipset.

3. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to check for hardware issues:

  1. Restart or turn on your laptop and press Esc repeatedly until the BIOS menu appears.
  2. Press F2 or select Diagnostics (F2).
  3. Run a full system diagnostic to check for hardware failures.

4. Check System Temperatures

Overheating can lead to random reboots. Ensure the laptop is not overheating:

  1. Make sure the cooling vents are clean and free from dust.
  2. Use a cooling pad to help keep temperatures down during intensive tasks.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Been doing some testing, in the windows logs it shows that a sudden power issue occurs and thats why it restarts, so tried a different power adapter and the issue continues, so it looks like and issue with the battery. Will try to look for the battery online to have it replaced to see if it helps.

Hello, thanks for the follow up, still having issues with the laptop, it works fine if it is connected to the AC power adapter, if it runs only on battery it will display the same bahavior, so looking to replace the battery, just need to double check the model of the battery.

I think that the model of the PN of the battery is the following

L84394-005

3-cell Li-ion Polymer Battery: 52.5 Wh
