Hi @SREEK4R2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Victus laptop is not turning on, but the charging light is on, it indicates that the laptop is receiving power but is unable to boot up. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
**1. Perform a Hard Reset
Disconnect Power:
- Unplug the charger from the laptop.
- Remove any connected peripherals (USB drives, external mouse, etc.).
Perform Hard Reset:
- Press and hold the Power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Release the power button and plug the charger back in.
Turn On Laptop:
- Press the Power button to turn on the laptop.
**2. Check Battery and Power Supply
- Ensure the charger and battery are functioning correctly.
- Check for any visible damage to the charging cable or the battery.
- Connect the charger and try turning on the laptop. Ensure that the charger is properly connected to both the laptop and the power source.
- If the battery light is blinking or showing an unusual color, refer to your laptop’s manual for battery indicator meanings.
**3. Perform a Power Reset
- If your laptop has a removable battery, carefully remove it.
- Unplug the charger from the laptop.
- Press and hold the Power button for 15-20 seconds.
Reconnect Battery and Power:
- Reinsert the battery (if removable) and plug in the charger.
Turn On Laptop:
- Press the Power button to see if the laptop powers on.
**4. Check for Display Issues:
- Ensure the screen is not blank or damaged. Sometimes the laptop may be on, but the display might be faulty.
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor to see if there’s any display on the external screen. This helps determine if the issue is with the laptop’s display.
**5. Listen for Beep Codes or LED Blinks
- If your laptop emits any beep codes or LED blinks when trying to power on, note their pattern. These codes can indicate specific hardware issues.
- Check the laptop’s manual or HP’s support website for information on beep codes or LED indicators.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
