Hi,
I’ve tried to boot my laptop, but am getting the following error message :-
boot device not found
please install an operating system on your hard disk.
hard disk (3fo)
I have been through the steps shown on the following :-
https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c06201699
intel Optane on step 3 is not showing up on my laptop, so I’m assuming this is not an option for me.
I also get nothing when pressing f11 on start up, I just go Straight through to the original error message.
hard drive is all working fine as per checks.
I have also taken out and tried another.
is anyone able to offer any further advice please?

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not booting to Windows and you are getting a 3F0 error.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
What is the product number of your computer?
What is the operating system you are using?
Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thanks for getting back to me.
I’ve attempted the steps you advised, but I can’t get past the boot screen.
on start up I can press f10 for the system menu, otherwise it takes me straight to the error message .
my product ID is as follows :- 4RD90EA#ABU
operating system is windows 10.
thanks in advance

I recommend you contact support as it looks like a hardware issue.
Here is how you can get in touch with support.
1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
Cheers!
