HP 15-af131dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, my HP 15-af131dx laptop wouldn't boot after I updated to the latest video drivers from AMD. After updating, my laptop was really slow, so i decided to restart it. When i tried to boot it up, most of the time it would get to the windows logo with the loading symbol under it and crash. Sometimes windows recovery would show up, but using it would only bring up an error message. After a few tries, I was able to boot into windows safe mode and roll back my video drivers. This fixed the problem, but I would like to know why this is happening and if updating my video drivers in important.

You will also from your drivers at support.hp.com.

The last driver HP released was Version 15.201.1101.0 Rev.A Released: Jan 29, 2016.

I do not update my driver unless I have a video issue.

Please keep me informed of how things went.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked device manager and found out that my video driver is version 15.201.1101.0, the one you said was the last driver version HP released. I am not experiencing video issues so I will just leave it like that. The only problem is that I cant use AMD Radeon settings. When I try to access it, I get an error message that says, "No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not fuctioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for your AMD hardware." This isnt a big issue right now, but it might be important in the futur.
