I have been trying to resolve this issue for over 4 weeks now and HP is not helping. My notebook powers up to a black screen and 3 long blinks follwed by 5 short blinks on the power button. Here is my information:
Your Full Name: Bart Dluhy
Country Location: USA
Product Model Number: w2lo1ua#aba
Any HP Case Numbers or HP Service Ticket numbers:
Description of issue: When I try to start the computer the screen stays black. I get 3 long flashes followed by 5 short flashes on the Caps lock button.
Forum Name: HP notebook battery recall and replacement.
This is the second HP laptop that has crapped out 2 to 3 months after the warranty ran out.

The issue has been escalated beyond the scope of our forum in this Thread:
HP pavillion wont start, Three long blinks follwed by 5 short blinks
Escalation time frame for out-of-warranty devices varies -- while the ideal is "sooner" rather than later, out-of-warranty escalations to HP do not follow the same time line as to in-warranty cases.
As noted in his post to you dated 01-02-2018 06:01 PM, I suggest you send a Private Message to the agent who escalated the request.
Remind the agent you are still waiting to hear back.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
