Have the same problem as many others have with HP Spectre x360 13-4005dx all of a sudden not turning on anymore with no leds indicating any life signs of the PC.
I Tried the hard reset (Holding power+Mute buttons for 10 Sec.) , tried a different power cord and outlets - No results - seems like the laptop is completly dead.
The laptop is out of warranty but I noticed that other users managed it with HP - to get it fixed also outside of warranty as this is a design defect in the board.
HP engineers - I'll appericiate if you can contact me ASAP as this is a 1.5 years old laptop and I did not expect such failure from a high end PC like this.

Hello @Esalomo
Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome onboard!
I am sorry for the issues you experience with your HP computer.
Please, review these 3 HP official articles about such issues you experience now. Follow the appropriate steps that fit your case to attempt to fix the issue:
or
>> http://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/c03518165
>> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03515402
If you did try everything but nothing helped, I am afraid you will need to bring your computer (or ship it) to service - HP Authorized service center. If the computer is still under warranty, you will need to notify HP support first. If you are not sure where such a center is located, please contact HP support for assistance in finding one. Here is more info:
>> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/store-finder/find.do?bs=SR4&type=authorized
>> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html
Hope this helps.

Hi @Esalomo
Thank you for coming back.
If you did try all of the steps mentioned in the article(s) I posted, there is nothing else that you can do other than bringing the PC (or shipping it) to a service center you trust. This can be some local computer repair shop or (better) HP authorized service center.
I cannot help you much if the PC cannot start at all and onsite technical assistance is required.
Good luck

Yes, unfortunately I had to send in to HP the machine for a motherboard replacement for ~400$ 😞 as it was out of warranty and took 2 weeks. you can still buy from Amazon external case for 10$ and have your data backedup on another PC until its back.

indeed frustrating but this is all you can do - if you already checked that it is not your power adapter which died and stopped charging the battery, then it is likely to be motherboard.... just now you can only pull your data from the harddrive using this external adaptor for being able to use it on a different machine while this being send to HP for repair.
this is the link to the adapter I used -
